Heartwarming snuggles

One of the most heartwarming things Quackley does is snuggle. Whether she's nestling into a cozy blanket or cuddling up with her favourite human, her snuggles bring so much joy and warmth to the House of Lancaster. These moments are precious and remind us of the simple pleasures in life.

Quackley, the house boss

If Quackley had a job at the House of Lancaster, it would undoubtedly be to boss everyone around! With her assertive personality and natural leadership skills, she would ensure everything runs smoothly (in her opinion, at least). We can only imagine the hilarious directives she would issue!

Her life began....

Quackley is a duck that we hatched from Griselda & Gary's egg... She quickly had a little soft spot in us as she was the tiniest of the four hatched ducklings. A little while after she was hatched, she had a deficiency in niacin, and it caused splay-leg and then she got trampled. Which meant we had to bandage her legs together, like an elastic to keep the straight. We separated her from the others until she was healed, but she tried to jump out and injured her leg further.  It was shortly after that we discovered that she had a curved spine, scoliosis. This means, she can swim (sorta), but she can not walk, because her feet (have now) curled inward and her balance is off because of the curve in her spine.
She now lives solo, with us in the house because she can not walk, living her best life, eating, snuggling and swimming.

About the Duck....

If Quackley could talk, we're pretty sure one of the first things she'd say about living at the House of Lancaster is: "Why aren't you holding me?" She adores being held and cuddled, and it's one of her favourite ways to show affection. It's a constant reminder of the love and connection we share with our house duck.
